About Kristin Kurth
Kristin has an accomplished career in both upstream and downstream marketing. Her perspective comes from working across a wide range of industries, including consumer and luxury goods, health care, financial services, technology, real estate, publishing, and more. Her recent book, Upstream Marketing: Unlock Growth Using the Combined Principles of Insight, Identity, and Innovation details many years of helping clients from startups to Fortune 100 companies strategize, plan, and launch integrated brand-building initiatives. It is a marketing best-practice study of some of the world’s most successful brands, including Amazon, Apple, Disney, Google, Nike, Starbucks, and Southwest Air.
Prior to co-founding EquiBrand Consulting over 20 years ago, Kristin was a Senior Partner, Worldwide Management Supervisor at Ogilvy Chicago, running global consumer goods brands.
Kristin has a BBA from the University of Michigan Ross School of Business and an MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business, with specialization in marketing, finance, and economics. She has guest lectured extensively at top MBA programs, including Stanford, Haas, Kellogg, and Booth School of Business. She is an adjunct professor of marketing in the undergraduate and graduate programs of the School of Economics and Business Administration at St. Mary’s College.
